We brought Wes down to  Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital because Arra needed to go and why not bring him too?  Dr. Strosnider is treating him from Lebanon Equine Clinic.

Wes has a fracture of the coffin bone.  It is not affecting the joint so the prognosis is very good.  Dr. Strosnider and farrier Phil Longo had cast the foot 11 weeks ago.

The freshly trimmed and shod hoof has the fracture.
This is Dr. Morrison's roller action shoe.  They welded in the plate for added stability.
That's Equilox on the hoof in preparation for the cast.
You can see the Equilox bonding to the cast material.
A little bit of water and the cast sets up.
Equi-Pak is used to cushion the sole and a good bead of Equilox is applied to the cast for wear on the ground surface.
Aaron finishes up putting his latex glove over the hoof to help cure the Equilox.
